Our client, an innovative and growing AV Solutions Provider, has an immediate opening for a Design Engineer.

To be successful in this position you will perform: Audio, Video and Control engineering functions as required to support the sales, design, installation and delivery of custom audio-video systems taking complex audiovisual systems from start to completion.

Along with your excellent communication and customer service skills it will be combined with a technically sound understanding of some of the following: Cisco, Polycom, Crestron, AMX, Extron, Biamp, and other AV/VTC/UCC products. 

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 – 2 years of experience in AV design, job-cost quotes, and system drawingsThis a hybrid role, requiring in-person reporting, 3 days a week, to the Beaverton, OR office.   Want to relocate to the Portland, OR area? You will work in collaboration with the Project Manager to ensure that the contracted scopes of work are performed to the highest possible standards of quality and conform to defined performance requirements. You will also work closely with the installation staff to ensure system designs are correctly implemented. It is expected that you will also maintain open lines of communication both within the company and with the clients.

What you will be doing.

  • Supporting the team with Pre and Post-Sales Engineering efforts to ensure quoted systems meet company expectations.
  • Work with CAD Team to complete drawing deliverables and take ownership of design validation and Q/C of drafting.
  • Engineering of Audiovisual systems of various types and producing associated deliverable documentation (Audio DSP, Control Systems, AV Networks, Video Projection, etc.)
  • Conduct Site Survey's and participate in client meetings to understand deliverable requirements and intended system functionality.
  • Coordinating with clients and guiding them through their Audiovisual technology needs based on intended functionality.
  • Respond to client requests for modifications and additions to systems. 
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure modifications are tracked and appropriate change orders are generated and executed.
  • Identify system design challenges and devise corrective action to mitigate risk.
  • Provide labor estimates for Sales Estimation of low to moderate-level projects.
  • Work to maintain knowledge of current product lines for various manufacturers.
  • Provide training of system operation to client stakeholders and Company Service team.
  • Aide the Project Management team in the development of project plans and milestones.
  • Create BOM and AV deliverables, including drawings and other documents which meet with the company's standards.
  • Execute project plans within the time constraints specified while adhering to quality standards.
  • Provide any other support to ensure Company operates up to standards on a daily basis.
  • Maintain proper safety practices in accordance with OSHA, and Site safety requirements.

  • Cisco and/or Cisco partner experience is a plus

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design Engineering or equivalent professional experience. 
  • CTS-D or ability to achieve within 6 months of employment.
  • Strong aptitude and desire to learn AV design and systems engineering. 
  • Proficiency in digital signal processing software.
  • Strong work ethic, drive, and aptitude may be considered in lieu of, for the right candidate.

Hours:

Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with occasional travel to client sites (less than 10%) 

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 + (salary is commensurate with experience)
